Great kitespot and good weather but there are a few things that I disliked: - The food isn't great and it is very expensive. Be ready to spend more than 30 euros per person per meal to eat anything remotely decent - The locals will try to scam you any time they can - The night life is very poor, I am not sure why the score is so high - Traveling here with gf/spouse: Egypt is not the most welcoming place for western women I would say it is good for stays of less than 1 month, but after 1 month you will want to leave.

Its an amaaazing place, I am coming here for +20 years and saw the place become what it is now.The weather is really good, +95% sunshine for sure, in Gouna is more about wind or no wind. Its a fantastic kite spot, diving is also good, desert is super nice, and the Nile is not far away. There are not many Co-working spaces, but Gouna is working on it. But working from some of the beach restaurants or kite clubs a lot of people do. It's easy to rent an apartment. Its incredibly safe, and I've been now quite some times to Hospital its not the most fancy one but has been very good for me, I was helped very well, since recently they have a nice big food market call Gourmet which has lots of vegetarian and healthy choices, that was really missing before. There is fibre internet to most places but sometimes there is spotty connection, I think because of connection between Gouna & Cairo.

I spent 2 weeks in El Gouna. El Gouna has a coworking space G*space for about 5 euros / month and working from there was amazing. Internet is very reliable. El Gouna is not like the rest of Egypt. El Gouna is very safe. In terms of accommodation, short term airbnb might be quite pricey (I paid around 650 euros for 2 weeks). Long term rent through a rental agency can come down to around 500 euros / month for an apt with a pool access. I definitely recommend El Gouna for digital nomads. Its a place with full of expats and travellers, great nightlife and fantastic restaurants.

Before you go "OMG EGYPT IT'S UNSAFE FOR WOMEN etc etc". This is El Gouna, not a normal Egyptian town!Yes it's part of Egypt. But it's a closed off private tourist resort town. It has its own security force, like police. It has its own hospital, etc.

Re: LGBT poster below, El Gouna isn't like the rest of Egypt. It's a private resort town by a progressive tech billionaire. You're fine as LGBT there
